In
the last few weeks I've had a lot of food at multiple places. Instead
of doing several tiny posts I decided to just bombard your asses with
one semi-long one. The first is from Sammy's Thai which me, Cam, and
her Salsa Hooligans ordered during the Academy Awards. It took a
while to arrive which was understandable since the awards are like a
holiday here. We got pad thai, rice, won tons, shrimp dishes, and
chicken larb. The chicken larb was great and I've had it once before
at another spot Heidi had taken me to near Hollywood. It was spicy
but not kick your ass spicy which was good. What the hell is larb,
you ask? There is beef, chicken, and pork larb. So far chicken has
been my favorite along with white rice.
During
History Day L.A Cam and I first were planning on getting some free In
& Out but once we witnessed the long Soul Train line that led to
the truck we decided to go to Chick-Fil-A since we were in Azusa and
its not rare there. Cam got the regular chicken sandwich I believe
and I got the spicy one for the first time. Not really spicy but
tasted great. Along with some fries as well as a large Sprite my ass
was super happy. We ended up going again in Hollywood before she
dropped me off where I got a regular sandwich and a large vanilla
milkshake. Their milkshakes are good but I think I still prefer Jack
In The Box. There was one more meal on this day because I hadn't
slept in 24 hours and my decision making skills were not top notch.
At
the park in downtown L.A there were a bunch of catering trucks. Well,
not a bunch, but some. This is where I got that nasty celery soda.
There was a New York catering truck and I got a giant hot dog with
mustard, sour kraut, and other things I cant recall even when looking
at the picture. Cam took the pickle since for some reason I'm just
not into them anymore. When I was a kid I used to devour them but now
I will always give them away. Oh, it had macaroni salad as well! I
didn't eat it though. I'm very picky when it comes to that. I like it
homemade or from Gelson's which for whatever reason tastes amazing.
For
my birthday which was not my birthday dinner Cam took me to Five Guys
over on Wilshire. I'd been here just the one time before with her and
was addicted to their fries. The double cheeseburger was good, too. I
like this place because like Chick-Fil-A the staff is not and it
doesn't have tat factory feel of a McDonald's or In & Out. I
mean, those places are fine but Five Guys has a staff that seems to
actually like their jobs. Or they're terrific actors. Either way I
need to start going here more often and being adventurous with my
selections. I tend to find something I like and stick with it for far
too long.
The
other night I ordered Domino's which I hadn't had in a long time. I
didn't do my normal multip0le pizzas and eat them all week this time.
I a New York style pizza that they started making. It was okay. Like
their regular pizza but with bigger slices and thinner crust. My
inner fat child/current not in shape adult knew I was being ripped
off. And to top it all off they ended up forgetting my dipping sauce
for my wings. Seriously?! When I called and let them know, which was
less than three minutes after the driver left, they said that I could
wait another 45 minutes or get the wings free next time. Instead of
waiting close to another hour I opted to get the free order next
time. Hopefully they remember the sauce!

You went to Chick-Fil-A twice in one day!? That's just crazy! Preposterous!
I didn't even want to go there but my enabler, we shall call her "Milleca" took me and said "You're getting this or else! So I did. I ate chicken sandwiches and cried at the same time. It wasn't as cute as it sounds.
