Thanksgiving Championship Edition

Whenever I go of Ms. T and Mr. J’s house I think to myself “This is what I want to do when I grow up.” Each time I go over there we end up having fun conversations and amazing food. As me and Cam headed over there I was hungry as hell. Mr. J. knows how to make a powerful ass drink so he gave me a rum and Coke which made my stomach ask “What the hell is food?” Seriously, if he were a bartender everyone would go straight to him. So we all talked while waiting for the meals to finish and Cam saying I wasn’t finishing my drink fast enough. It was powerful, okay?!

Its always weird for me to not help when I go over someone’s house and they are cooking. Its not like I think I can do it better than them particularly since they make great food. It just feels weird to not be helpful in the kitchen, especially during the holidays. T and J are cool and let you sit down while they get everything taken care of. And there was a lot to take care of. I don’t know what kind of magic oven can hide that much food but they own it.

This wasn’t like my dinners where I have a few chairs, a big leather couch, and my bed for people to sit on. They have actual tables with chairs and placemats. See how grown up they are? They set up all the food while I continued to get drunk and play with dogs. The food was being placed out and there was way more than I expected. There was turkey, macaroni and cheese with bread crumbs and parmesan cheese on top, mashed potatoes, rolls, and cranberry sauce. I ate so much! So, so much more than I thought I would. Full on “Itis” struck and just sat there continuing to drink and be full as hell.

And then there was dessert. Pumpkin pie, pumpkin cheesecake, and a gigantic bowl of banana pudding with vanilla wafers. See that big pumpkin pie? Cam poked a hole in it. There we were just standing there admiring the food when she goes HAM on the plastic top and her finger goes through the entire thing. She then cut out a square where the hole was. It looked like she was cutting a light skinned brownie.

I was so glad I went to T and J’s and happy that they invited me over for such an awesome dinner. I think I have had dinner there about four times and the food gets better and we have more fun at each one. Oh, we totally had a conversation about ashy skin and whether or not your skin tone affected your use of lotion. I should probably say that I took home some banana pudding and macaroni and it is amazing even days later. And of course there's Cam's hand as always.

It was. Out of all the food I have ever made I never made macaroni and cheese. When I do I will try it this way since it tasted so damn good.
