All The Food Since February

I know I wait far too long between food posts. Its pretty damn terrible and I have now put myself in a situation where I have a LOT of food to write about since February. I am gonna try my best to remember everything about them. Some will stand out for how good it was. Okay. These will not be in order. Here we go.

Butcher Baker The Cappuccino Maker

One of the favorite spots for me and my lady. We have been here a few times and each time the food is great. I do recall a guy wearing terrible cologne sitting near us this time. I got steak and eggs and it was so good. Their portions have increased since we had last gone. Would definitely go back again and again.

Florence

Went here for the very first time. My lady did not like what she got all that much. I thought the food was okay but there was nothing there to make me say “We should go one more time.” It was fine. I got chased out while signing the check by the piano player playing Anita Baker which my lady still laughs about and has video of me forgetting how to write and do math as it played.

Kluckin Chicken

Not sure why we went to this place. Its on Santa Monica and Vine tucked into a corner near a tax place and beauty supply. The food was good but not somewhere I would need to try again.

Miceli's

Went here and loved it. We went before seeing a Harry Potter show and got cool seats upstairs near a piano where the guy played some nice old songs. Our waitress even hopped on the mike and then right back to serving. We have been wanting to go back here but a new challenger for Italian food may have ruined us for life. I will get to them later. I would 100% still go back here because everything about it was nice.

New York's Chopped Cheese

Went here with my lady and it was...fine. The food got cold immediately. Got sandwiches and fries. Parked across the street. You cant sit and eat here because its very tiny. No need to try it again.

Phat Daddy's

Have been here multiple times with Cam and its great when they are open. Tried ordering online and calling and got no responses so we just hoofed it there and they were open. Walked past the lady pushing her baby in a stroller and smoking weed and all the cars blasting music to pass time until order was ready. Awesome ass place.

Valentino's Pizza

Me and my lady went here and it was fine. Not the kind of Italian sausage her wanted but it was a big pizza and the staff were nice. Ate outside just looking around with our greasy pizza. Likely wouldn't go back. Not that it was bad but it is just not near anything we really go to.''

Watdongmoonlek Noodle

Went here cause my lady was craving it after we saw Sinners for the hundredth time. Located near Silverlake this was some damn good food. Spicy as hell so be careful. Had a nice drink and liked the way it was set up decoration wise. Good service and attentive but not overbearing like some place are. If in the area and craving Thai I would go back here.

Random Thai Spot In Inglewood

Me and my lady were around the area and went to this Thai place she used to go to herself. Very good food. Not fast service and a kiosk. They could do better with cleaning tables and leave wipes for you to do yourself. I know staffing in a problems these days but...no. I would go back but just get it to go. I clean up after people as a job. Don't need to do it when dining out.

Lucifer's Pizza

This place is on Melrose and my cousin JP told me about it. We went when she visited and it was delicious. The person behind the counter has seemed stressed out both times I have gone and kinda kills the mood. I went again with my lady and I do like this place but due to where its located to will have to get lucky with finding a place to park.

Happy Ice

After pizza with my cousin we went to Happy Ice. This place is always great. Just don't get unlucky and stuck behind tourists or people with kids because they will take up all the time available.

Voodoo Donuts

After pizza with my lady we went to the new location on Melrose. Got way more donuts than we could eat but they tasted good. Next time I wont be a fat ass and just get one...or two.

Penguins

JP told me about how hard it is to get the fish she wants in Atlanta so I suggested Penguin's. I have been here with Cam and every time I go I love it. She was so damned happy and got everything she wanted.

Johnny Pastrami

Seeing this image made me even remember I went here! Cam had known of this place forever and suggested we go months ago and we did. Food was good and it is a great spot for people watching and folks messing up their orders and blaming the staff. They have renovated and based on Google images it looks much better and has more seating than it used to. Would go back again.

Mamie's

This place changed my mood the sandwich was so goddamn good. I can't even recall what I got but I went with my lady and again with JP while she was here. I think about this place often because it is very nearby but it is not cheap. Very good and filling sandwich. Just order ahead of time because that line be out the door!

Toi

If Toi is suggested as a place to eat I will say yes. Got some ribs that fell off the bone and Thai toast which I have to get anytime I am here. Just thinking about it makes me want some.

Dom's

Went here with my lady after we went to the Hollyhock House. Luckily found parking because where it is located it fucking weird. Good service. Just have to ignore the crackheads rubbing pipes all over everything outside. Yeah, this is something we watched happen. The tiny cake was too good. Everything was good. She was craving salmon and I wanted a chicken sandwich that was really good. The potatoes were tasty as well as the rice balls which I'd never had before. I would get this again if it were near me.

Juneteenth Food

I got some ribs and sides from a place called Wright something. I enjoyed it as two meals. Wanted one other place but they weren't ready. I know barbecue should come out fast cause its made already so I waited just a couple minutes as they plated it. My lady got some Jamaican food where the guy had his cart parked just outside the loudness. We ate it in the car.

Smash Burger

It is what it says it is. My lady pointed it out and its true that it had a In & Out quality to it...at twice the price. Nice good burger. Not sure I would try it again unless I was hanging out near it and wanted something not filling. Fries were good too.

Bob's Big Boy

I had never been to one of these and had seen ads when I was little. Me and my lady went after a Warner Bros tour. It was good but incredibly messy to eat. Would I go again? I guess. Maybe if it was not in Burbank. The waitress was nice but the cashier seemed lost and when our table was ready I guessed that she wrote my name down wrong. I do not have a hard name.

Norm's

Had not been to this place in almost 20 years. We got some crazy ass pancakes that were good. We left stuffed and it cost half as much as the next place I am gonna write about. The lot was packed but we got a table within minutes. Had to sit close to strangers but the food was tasty and the staff was nice. Would definitely go back.

Dupars (The Grove/Farmers Market)

We had been here once before a couple years ago. We went because they were talking about how much they are struggling and will be closing down. Well, expect to be paying their rent because for a very basic breakfast it was super expensive and not worth what they were charging for the slow service. They brought us cold sausages I sent back to be warmed and I have never sent food back before. Very slow service and this place has to be surviving on the name alone. I don't ever need to come back and wish Farmers Daughter across the street was still open.

4th Of July Food

We made the decision to watch crazy fireworks from my ladys window and eat food at home. Great decision! Had ribs from Food 4 Less, hot links, potato salad, macaroni, beans. We later realized we forgot we bought corn on the cob and had that the next day. It was good and lasted for actual days.

Uovo

I saved this for last on purpose. My lady saw a video about this place so we went to the Santa Monica location. Oh...my...good. The best pasta I have ever had in my entire life. This has seriously messed us up because now when we want pasta at home or anywhere else we know its not gonna be even close to how good this was. After the first bite I know we were done. Nice staff and service. I ended up going again to the one on Wilshire with my cousin Mala and we got a tasting serving. You get four different pastas but we switched one out for a delicious salad. Every single one was good. The crazy thing is each time I went I didn't feel bloated after eating it. I would suggest this one over the one near the beach because they have free for two hours parking and you don't have to deal with all the problems that come with being near the beach.

I think that is everything but I know I am forgetting something.

Fish Bar

I knew it! I forgot all about Fish Bar! My lady has taken me here a couple of times and its very good.

 Yeastie Boys

My lady and I have been here a couple of times at the farmers market over on Melrose. Sometimes there is a long ass line but its worth the wait.
