Today I headed to Baby Blue's over here
in West Hollywood because its Memorial Day and my mother said the
word “barbecue” one too many times. Bludso's is a little too far
for my lazy ass so I called my order in. I ordered a Bacon Blue
Stuffed Burger, fries, a hotlink, banana pudding, and Kool-Aid. I
asked for a roll since they have no buns of anything for the hotlink
and they gave me cornbread. I should say “cornbread.” I'll get to
that in a moment. The burger was good but I couldn't taste this
“stuffed” aspect of it. Just a good burger. Not amazing. Just
good. The Kool-Aid was good. I won't order the fries again. They were
cold less than five minutes later by the time I got home.

Woodranch Once Again!
After a busy and productive morning Saturday me and Cam went over to Woodranch over at Farmer’s Market. Or The Grove. Whichever you want to call it. I have had fun at this place each time I’ve gone and am glad to say that in a day and age where customer service continues to plummet across the board, this place stays friendly and fast.
I started off with a strawberry lemonade to drink. I love their lemonades here. They are sweet but not knock your teeth out sweet like some places make them. They even put a giant ass piece of mint which I removed and gave to Cam because it looked too close to a vegetable for me.

Charlie's At The L.A Farmer's market
This morning I went to this place called Charlie’s at The Farmer’s Market next to The Grove. I had been here once before with Miss L. and they have really good and filling pancakes. Their bacon was thick and their prices are cheap. That’s Cam of course trying to inhale all my food. Except the bacon of course. The scrambled eggs were a little runny but that was overlookable. Wow. Overlookable is a real word. We both sat there chatting about Abraham Lincoln’s murder and enjoying the beautiful L.A weather. Oh, and the staff is really cute. Bunch of young girls wearing shorts and smile a lot. Head there and grab an awesome breakfast and don’t deal with the staff at IHOP.

Fresh Fruits & Vegetables
This past Sunday I went to a farmer’s market with Ms. L. It was pretty damned groovy. I have only been to these type of places a few times and each time I feel totally lost. I don’t know anything about fruits and vegetables. Every time I see vegetables that I have never seen before an actual question mark floats over my head.

Ms. L. was pretty good with getting me to try some fruits. I even had a, what did she call it, damn I forget. It was some kind of cucumber. It was supposed to be sweeter than regular ones but my tongue was like “Damn you, Dante!” I tried this delicious peach and got a couple of them. Ms. L. gave me a plum and some apples and I have eaten all of them. I have an avocado that I am eyeballing and trying to figure out what to do with.

I also got this ham and cheese crepe. It was okay. Nothing to write home about. Ms. L. got this way better breakfast thing that had Hillshire Farm sausage. I love me some Hillshire Farm sausage and had to keep from eating her food up! If it had more cheese maybe it would’ve been better.

The Grove & Farmer's Market
I headed to The Grove and the Farmer’s Market today. The contrast between the places is crazy. They are so close together but so very different. The Grove is busy in the afternoon. Full of tourists, celebrities, and folks that hate watching where they walk. Its cool if you have a destination like the theater or The Cheesecake Factory.

The Farmer’s Market, while busy, isn’t as crammed with people. Just lots and lots of food. You can seriously find food from most countries and a variety of fruits and vegetables. Not that I’d know anything about that. Today I walked through the market more thoroughly than I ever have.

There was this barbecue sauce place that had soda flavored sauces. Seemed kinda scary but my cousin seemed intrigued.

The funny thing about most of the sauces is that they sound so damned threatening. “Kiss My Ass!” “Hog Ass.” “Slap Yo Mama!” Fuck You In The Ear!” Okay, the last one I made up but the rest were real. Check out the one below!

That’s real! Head to The Grove or Farmer’s Market and enjoy yourself. Its fun to play tourist sometimes. Minus the khaki shorts, flip flops, and tucked in t-shirt.
Oh, and my cousin bought a bag of kettle corn! This was butter toffee!

Andre's Pizza
I like Andre’s. This place has been the same since I was 18. The same cashier is even there! I always get the same thing when I go there which you can see in the picture. Just pizza, a mango Snapple (the best with Italian food), and some of their garlic bread that tastes more like cheese. Andre’s is a place that I tend to forget about when I am broke or near it. Its across the street from The Farmer’s Market (or the Grove) and in the back behind the Payless. Not hard to find but you cant exactly see it from the street. Give it a try.

Hollywood Farmer's Market
Today I went to a farmer’s market with Heidi, Michelle, and Julie. I don’t really frequent these type of markets (I’m actually having a hard time remembering if I have ever been to one). It was very fun. Sitting here and Michelle grabbed me and Julie and we took off. Met Heidi there and got the ball rolling.
They all had been there before so they knew all the good places to grab some food. We got some papusa’s (I got chicken) and some red lemonade where it tasted like everything but lemonade. What I mean is that it had lots of fruit but I couldn’t taste lemons. Go figure. Next we got a tamale that I split with Julie. Along the way we tried different fruits and stuff they had everywhere. You really don’t need to buy anything since there are samples of every fruit you can think of. This place was really fun for more than the food.
Ass.
Yes, I know this is a food blog but I’d be a liar if I didn’t mention that this place was crawling with booty. Some good and some terrible. But still, lots of ass. We toyed with the idea of getting a pie but it sounded way too healthy for this vessel. You all know I’m about meat, fat, and fried things.
If you’re ever in the Hollywood area I really suggest you go here. Besides food they have clothing, bags, and jewelry. I grabbed two little bundles of sage while I was there that smell wonderful by the way. So head there and don’t do like I did and eat random Japanese fruits. That thing looked like melon but my brain refused to acknowledge that it was supposed to be.
