Mendocino Farms For Sandwiches

A week or so ago Cam and I went to Mendocino Farms over on Santa Monica and Le Brea. Of course before that I went to Chick-Fil-A with JP and since then have gone to Isa Japanese Noodle, Sushi, and Curry with Cam but have no images from either of them. Both were really good in case you were wondering. Very long wait at Isa which thankfully we were prepared for unlike the couple next to us that bounded through bitching.

Cam got the Not So Fried Chicken which consisted of “shaved, roasted free range chicken rolled in Mendo's krispies with herb aioli, mustard pickle slaw, tomatoes, pickled red onions on toasted ciabatta with a side of chipotle BBQ sauce or mustard pickle remoulade.” She liked it alright but it didn't blow her mind. The combination of a lot of the krispies plus the crispy bread was a bit too much she said. I forget the name of mine but it was Korean something or other that was really good. Great mix of vegetables and the beef was tasty. I also got hot chips and Cam got pickled ones. This place doesn't move as fast as it used to but I usually end up loving what I got while who I am with is semi-satisfied.

Sandwiches & Ice Cream

Went to Mendocino Farms across from The Grove with my cousin last week. We wanted to go to Joan's On 3rd but that crazy line and no parking just didn't fit into our schedule. I got a bag of sweet potato chips that were okay. She didn't like them. I also got a steak BLT that was the goodness and she got a chicken sandwich that was good. Not sure how much she liked this place but I know she liked my sandwich. I gave her half because I'm a nice person sometimes. Then of course we went to Carmela which is our thing now. I got an Aztec chocolate and she got the usual. Good times!

Food At The End Of 2013

I have gone to quite a few places in the last few weeks and have been lazy about posting about them or forgetting to take pictures of food before I devoured it. So here are the places I ate between Christmas and last week not including an extra trip to Fatburger I took and a trip to Mendocino Farms. These will not be in order.

Went to Vito's over on La Cienega and Santa Monica with Cam. This place is so good. Cam had never been before and she liked one of the pizzas she got (by the slice we aren't savages) more than the other. Mine was too spicy for her. I think I may have to go here again soon.

Mendocino Farms Firsties

Last week I went to Mendocino Farms with South Paw who had never been there before. I love this place for the fact that their food is good, they have dozens of choices, and the staff there is cool. South Paw pointed out that no one would even know what I ate since I had flattened it and taken a bite out of it. I got the blue cow something or other. Its chicken and spicy and great.

Mendocino Farms Is Great

Mendocino Farms is a place over here that is fucking amazing. I would post a picture of their food but I have taken some pretty bad ones that don’t represent the food they serve very well. The first time I went was to the one on 3rd and Fairfax next to that new Trader Joe’s across from The Grove with Miss Q. I got an awesome sandwich that I cant recall but it was some sort of club. The next time I went was with Cam where I tried the blue cow chicken sandwich which was so damned good and tasted just as good the next day. I was like “How is this possible?!”

The third time I went was during a shopping spree with Cam and we tried the one on Santa Monica and La Brea in that Target shopping center aka Parking Here Hurts Your Soul. I got the chicken salad sandwich which looked great on paper and Cam got the same. We tried it and both of our eyes lit up. This was better the next day. The very next day, even as my half sandwich sat at home in my fridge, I went to the one on 3rd with my tattoo artist and tried the steak BLT which blew my fucking mind. Other than great sandwiches this place has lemonades, chips, and a ton of side dishes like potato salads that rule and regular salads. This is a spot I’ll be going to at least every two weeks because the staff is the best out of any restaurant I have been to in L.A and the food is consistently good. I just hope they don’t start popping up everywhere like The Counter because we have seen how shitty their service is now.
