Back At Guisado's

L. and I went to Guisado's for lunch a couple of weeks ago in the middle of the week pretending were were those people that don't have to work. I like this place because it is consistent with their flavors. I got two beef tacos that were juicy as hell. L. got a chicharrones one that she thought was kinda mushy. She also got the ceviche which is always good and I am glad they made it a permanent part of their menu. I will always come back to this place.

Tacos, Ribs, Beef Wellington, and Chicken Sandwiches

In an effort to make sure I don't fall too far behind on these food blogs I am going to make sure I try and stay up to date with these. The first place I'm going to talk about is Guisado's where L. and I went to get some tacos. She had never been there before and I had been there of course with JP and I really like this place. We ended up getting some tacos that weren't exactly what she was expecting but she still kind of like them but she and I really loved the ceviche that they had. They normally do not have this all the time so it was a cool surprise and a half and after having a bite of hers I had to get my own. They also have very bionic lemonade.

More Way Too Late Food Posts

Since the summer I have eaten at a lot of different places and tried a lot of new food. Have I been posting about them? No! Why? Because I'm a bum that was also dealing with depression. Now that I'm not I will post about some of the good food I have had over the months. I don't have pictures of everything like Vito's that I went to with Cam but rest assured that we went there before seeing a play and enjoyed it like always. But that new server can go to hell. She rude.

At the Santa Monica Pier L. and I went to this really good seafood spot. I got poke because I have been obsessed with it for a couple years now. She got clam chowder. Both were really good and the service was incredibly fast.

We also went to Leimert Park and got some Ethiopian food at a festival. This was enough for three meals for me. Everything was good.

Month And A Half Worth Of Food

I have a lot of food blogging to catch up on so I am cramming them all into this post. About a month ago JP and I went to Plan Check after seeing that they had this damned burger with cheese, bacon, and fried onions. I was all over that after we found out that they could turn their small burgers large. We also got their fries, drinks, and JP got the chicken sandwich. Everything was super good. Afterward we headed to this place called Cofax which turned out to be horrible. The look on JP's face when she saw the small selection was priceless. I got two donuts, a mango one that was so damned tart that I could only have one bite. I also got some pistachio deal and a regular ass cookie. We enjoyed our coffees but will never head to this place again. JP was already looking for another donut place while we waited for our order and we headed to California Donuts which was fucking awesome. Every single donut we got from them tasted amazing. No ICDC but really good.

Fat Tour 2017

Me and JP went on a Fat Tour last week! Well, it was over a week ago but I have been making songs, Perler beads, watching movies, and recovering from being sick so I've been putting this off. For those that do not know, a Fat Tour consists of going to three or more places in one day. This time we went to four of them in the span of two hours. Diabetes and high blood pressure be damned! The first place we went to was Guisado's in West Hollywood. This place is not close to expensive. We each got three tacos. I got one beef, pork, and chicken. JP got shrimp, beef, and chicken. My favorite was the chicken. This place was fast and busy. We sat inside and ate our dripping ass tacos. The drinks could be improved as JP described hers as “pruney.” I didn't mind it as much as gave her my lemonade one. I'd definitely go back here since its not far and they have a lot on their menu.

Next door was Salt And Straw which I'd heard about for a minute but never went to. Hell, we didn't even know it existed near me but it was right next door to Guisado's so we headed inside. We each got the same flavor of salted caramel but JP got hers in regular ice cream and I got mine as a shake. The lady at the counter warned me how salty is is so they cut it with vanilla. It was good. JP did not like hers because she said it was very salty. I believe her based on the faces she was making.
